Fuso delivers Series-production Hybrid Trucks to Europe For the First Time

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck Bus Corporation has sold ten hybrid trucks to an Irish company. The Fuso Canter Eco Hybrid is the first series-production hybrid truck to be sold in Europe. The customer is Ireland’s leading utility company, the Electricity Supply Board (ESB) in Dublin. ESB plans to use the vehicles for customer service and for infrastructure maintenance in Ireland. Daimler will begin series production of the new Smart Fortwo Electric Drive in November at the Hambach factory in France. The announcement was made when French president Nicolas Sarkozy visited the plant.The first 1000 units will be produced starting November, with full series production scheduled to begin in 2012.
